Helicopter Solutions for Telecom Infrastructure & Tower Work
SkyMatch Group helps telecom infrastructure teams source and coordinate suitable licensed helicopter operators for tower access, inspection support, crew mobilisation and equipment movement. SkyMatch is an independent broker: it reviews the mission, identifies what an operator still needs, and sources operators — it does not fly the aircraft and does not confirm price, availability or landing permission.
Most telecom tower requests stall on the same points: the landing area near the tower, the weight and dimensions of the equipment, and whether the crew must return the same day. Use the calculators below to shape those numbers, then send the mission for assessment with the gaps still open.
Where a helicopter is used
Access to ridge-top and off-road tower sites
Sites reachable only by long unpaved track, seasonal road or on foot, where a vehicle mobilisation costs days of crew time.
Inspection and survey support
Moving inspection or survey teams and their instruments between several tower locations within one working window.
Crew mobilisation and rotation
Getting a climbing or maintenance crew on site early and back the same day, including multi-site sequences.
Equipment and component movement
Antennas, radios, batteries and structural parts, carried internally where dimensions allow or as an external load where the operator confirms it is possible.
Network outage response
Urgent access to a failed site where road travel time is the main driver of downtime.
Start with the numbers
These are the existing SkyMatch calculators most telecom teams use. Each produces indicative planning figures you can carry straight into a structured request.
Relevant mission pages
What to prepare before requesting
- Tower coordinates or site reference, and the nearest usable landing area if one is known.
- Number of people and total weight of tools and equipment.
- Heaviest and largest single item, with dimensions.
- Whether the crew returns the same day or stays on site.
- Date window, and whether the requirement repeats across a maintenance programme.
- Any known access, environmental or landowner restriction.
What happens after you submit
- A SkyMatch coordinator reads the mission and comes back with anything missing before an operator review is possible.
- We identify independent licensed operators that may be able to assess the requirement.
- The mission brief goes out for assessment; aircraft, availability, permissions and operating limits are theirs to confirm.
- You receive the quotation options that come back, with the conditions attached to each.
- Nothing is booked, priced or promised until an operator confirms, and you and the operator are never connected automatically.
What is fixed, and what is not
- SkyMatch Group is an independent broker and coordination platform, not an aircraft operator.
- Aircraft type, availability, pricing, weather limits, permits and landing permissions are confirmed by a licensed operator and by whoever controls the landing point.
- Every request is reviewed by a person before an operator is considered.
- No buyer is connected to an operator automatically — introductions are made only after approval.
- Calculator outputs are indicative planning figures, not quotations.
Questions this industry asks first
Can you tell me now whether the helicopter can land at our tower site?
No. Landing suitability is assessed by the operator and depends on terrain, obstacles, surface, wind and the landowner's permission. The assessment identifies what evidence is needed for that decision.
Can the helicopter lift our antenna as an external load?
Only if a licensed operator confirms it for the rigged weight, sling configuration, altitude and temperature of that day. External load work requires specific approvals held by the operator.
We have a multi-year maintenance programme. Is that different from a single charter?
Yes. Recurring inspection or maintenance programmes are structured differently from one-off charters, so state in the request that the requirement is repeating.
How fast can you respond to an outage?
As quickly as possible, subject to operator availability. No response or mobilisation time is promised in advance.
Request a Mission Assessment
Send the tower mission as you understand it today. A coordinator reviews it, tells you what is still missing before an operator can quote, and sources licensed operators suited to tower work.
Reviewed by a person. No price, availability or landing permission is confirmed before an operator does so.
SkyMatch Group sources and coordinates independent licensed helicopter operators worldwide. It does not operate aircraft. Aircraft, availability, pricing, weather, permits and landing permissions are confirmed by the operator and the controlling party after review.
