Transfer logistics

- Private helicopter transfers have no airline-style check-in: passengers normally arrive at the departure heliport or FBO 10–15 minutes before departure and board directly.
- Luggage
- Luggage is limited by weight and hold shape rather than piece count. Soft bags load far better than hard cases, and skis, golf bags or dive gear must be declared when the request is made so the operator can plan payload.
- Landing sites
- A helicopter can only use a heliport, airport or private landing site that is approved for the aircraft and, where required, has landowner and authority permission. Hotel, villa and yacht landings are confirmed case by case by the operator.
- Weather and timing
- Departures are subject to weather minima and daylight rules for the aircraft and crew. Operators re-time or reroute rather than fly outside limits, and over-water sectors are normally flown by twin-engine aircraft.
- Cross-border transfers
- International sectors require passport details in advance and, on some routes, a customs or immigration-approved point of entry, which can change the departure or arrival site.
- Yacht and event transfers
- Yacht helipad, event site and race-weekend arrivals depend on slot allocation controlled by the venue or local authority, so booking lead time — not aircraft availability — is usually the limiting factor.
