Per person, the cost falls in a straight line with every seat filled, because the aircraft is chartered whole. It rarely becomes cheaper than driving; it becomes reasonable per person when the hours saved are multiplied by everyone on board and the group fits in one cabin.

How many passengers fit in a charter helicopter?

Typically 4 to 8 depending on the class: light singles seat 3 to 5, medium twins 6 to 8, heavy twins around 10. Those are brochure seats. Real seats depend on passenger weights, luggage and fuel for the sector, which the operator calculates for the specific flight.

What happens if the group is bigger than the cabin?
