VIP questions
Can a helicopter land at my hotel, villa or yacht?
Short answer
Only where the landing site is approved and the operator accepts it. Many hotels and yachts have no helipad, so the operator checks the site and the permissions first. If it cannot be used, a nearby helipad is usually proposed with a short car transfer.
Hotels and resorts
Some hotels and resorts have their own helipad; many do not. Even with a helipad, the hotel and the operator must both agree to the landing.
Private villas and estates
Landing on private land usually needs the owner's agreement, a suitable open area and, in many countries, permission from the local authority. The operator decides whether the site is safe.
Yachts
Only yachts with a certified helideck can take a helicopter, and the aircraft must fit that deck. Otherwise the helicopter lands at a nearby port or helipad and a tender takes you to the yacht.
What to send us
- The exact address or coordinates of the landing point.
- Whether the site has a helipad or helideck, and any documents for it.
