Campos Basin helicopter charter

Yes — the Campos Basin is one of the world's most established offshore helicopter markets, and Brazil has a genuine spot and ad-hoc charter layer alongside long-term crew-change contracts. Missions stage principally from Macaé (MEA), with Rio de Janeiro's Jacarepaguá and Galeão relevant for teams arriving from abroad. SkyMatch structures the mission and sources suitable independent licensed operators; deck approval, aircraft, payload and the weather call belong to the operator and the receiving installation.

Helicopter sourcing for Brazil's Campos Basin: Macaé and Rio staging to platforms, FPSOs, drillships and support vessels for engineering teams, EPC contractors, inspection crews and executives. Priced per mission.

Departure logic: Macaé is the offshore base town for the basin; Rio is the international gateway and a common first leg for arriving project teams and executives.
Two distinct demand types: contracted crew-change flying, and the spot / ad-hoc layer that SkyMatch serves — engineering, commissioning, inspection, urgent specialist mobilisation, client representative and executive visits.
Aircraft: medium twin-engine helicopters in offshore configuration are standard for over-water sectors, with flotation, rafts and over-water equipment. Type follows distance, payload and installation requirements.
Flight-time logic: Campos positions are closer to shore than pre-salt Santos positions, which changes range, fuel and payload planning — send the field or unit name rather than a generic distance.
Passenger certification: offshore survival training (including Brazilian offshore requirements), medical status and manifesting are set by the installation and the regulator, not by the charter.
Equipment: inspection, survey and commissioning kit and any dangerous goods must be declared with weights and packaging before an aircraft is offered.
Weather and deck status: sea state, visibility and helideck availability can stand a mission down at short notice.
Priced per mission and per aircraft, never per seat — aircraft category, total flight time including positioning, offshore or remote configuration, crew, waiting and standby, fuel logistics, landing and handling fees, permits, equipment and season are the drivers.
Missions are coordinated in Portuguese and English, with Brazilian commercial terminology.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Alongside long-term crew-change contracts, ad-hoc and spot offshore missions are commercially normal in the Campos Basin — urgent specialists, inspection and commissioning teams, client representatives and executive visits. That ad-hoc layer is exactly where SkyMatch works.

Macaé (MEA) is the established offshore staging base. Rio de Janeiro — Jacarepaguá and Galeão — is the usual arrival point for international teams connecting onward the same day where timing allows.

It depends on the unit's position offshore and the aircraft's cruise speed. Campos positions generally sit closer to shore than pre-salt Santos positions, but planning still runs on fuel reserves and payload. SkyMatch confirms sector time for the named unit.

Where the installation accepts the visit and the passengers meet its certification requirements, yes. Executive and client-representative offshore days are a normal, commercially significant part of the ad-hoc market.

The installation and its duty holder, not SkyMatch and not the passenger. Deck certification, helideck status, manifesting, passenger certification such as offshore survival and medical requirements, and the final go/no-go all sit with the operator and the installation. We plan around those approvals rather than assuming them.

Often yes, within payload and dangerous-goods rules and subject to the operator's manifest sign-off. Weights, dimensions, packaging and any DG classification frequently change which aircraft is suitable, so send them with the request rather than at the end.

Priced per mission — request current operator options. There is no published fare for this kind of work. The quote is built from aircraft category, sector time in both directions, positioning, offshore or remote configuration, crew, waiting or standby, fuel and handling logistics and any permits. We do not invent a number before operators price your dates.

Send the mission and we start checking suitable licensed operators immediately. Realistic response depends on the region and time of day — mature offshore and mining bases can often answer the same working day, while remote regions may take longer because aircraft and crews are committed to existing programmes. Nobody can promise an aircraft before SkyMatch confirms it.

No, and we will say so. Where a road, a scheduled or charter fixed-wing service, a crew boat or an existing shared flight genuinely gets your people there in reasonable time, that is usually cheaper. Helicopters earn their cost when there is no road or runway near the site, when a site can only be reached by air, when several sites must be covered in one day, or when the delay costs more than the flight.

No. SkyMatch is an independent helicopter sourcing, brokerage and coordination platform. SkyMatch does not own or operate aircraft. Flights are performed by independent licensed operators, and final aircraft, crew, availability, price, route, payload, permits, landing or deck approval and operational feasibility are confirmed by the performing operator and the relevant installation, mine, site or client authority.
