Helicopter transfers to private villas & estates
The last leg to a private estate is where most luxury travel plans break. These pages set out how each market is actually reached by helicopter — gateway, nearest approved landing point, flight time and what happens when a property pad is not permitted.
Mykonos
Cyclades, Greece
Most Mykonos villa arrivals fly Athens–Mykonos by helicopter and complete the last few kilometres by car. Private pads exist on a handful of estates on the Agios Lazaros, Aleomandra and Kalafatis side, but they are the exception rather than the rule.
Ibiza
Balearics, Spain
Ibiza villa clients use helicopters mostly for the Mallorca and Formentera legs and for beating road congestion between the airport and the north-west coast. Estate landings around Sant Josep and Santa Gertrudis are handled case by case.
Saint-Tropez
Côte d'Azur, France
The Nice–Saint-Tropez leg is the single most-flown villa transfer on the Riviera because the road alternative collapses in season. Estates in Ramatuelle and Gassin generally use La Môle or Grimaud plus a short car leg.
Tuscany
Chianti, Val d'Orcia, Maremma, Italy
Tuscan estate arrivals are the clearest villa-helicopter use case in Italy: the properties are rural, the roads are slow, and many estates already host events with temporary landing arrangements.
Costa Smeralda
Sardinia, Italy
Costa Smeralda villa and yacht arrivals overlap almost entirely. Helicopters here mostly bridge Olbia arrivals, yacht decks and the villas above Romazzino and Cala di Volpe.
Lake Como
Lombardy, Italy
Lakeside estates are hard to reach quickly by road and several already host helicopter arrivals for weddings. Most private-residence transfers land at an authorised lakeside site and finish by car or boat.
Marbella & Sotogrande
Costa del Sol, Spain
Estate clients on the Costa del Sol mainly use helicopters to bypass the coastal road and to reach Sotogrande, Gibraltar and Morocco legs from a single base.
Corfu & the Ionian
Ionian Islands, Greece
Ionian estate access is fragmented by water. Helicopters connect Corfu with Paxos, Antipaxos, Lefkada and the Kefalonia estates far faster than the ferry-and-road combination.
Phuket & Phang Nga
Andaman coast, Thailand
Villa clients in Phuket, Phang Nga and Koh Yao use helicopters to avoid a long, slow road and speedboat combination, especially for late-evening private-jet arrivals.
Algarve & Comporta
Atlantic coast, Portugal
Comporta estates and western Algarve villas are the two Portuguese markets where the road time is long enough to make a helicopter leg genuinely commercial rather than cosmetic.
Direct landing at a private property is only possible subject to landing permissions, suitable landing infrastructure, local regulation and operator approval. Where it is not available, we fly to the nearest approved helipad or airport and coordinate the final leg by car or tender.
