Short notice
Urgent and short-notice helicopter charter requests
Short-notice requests are not unusual: a meeting moves, a connection fails, a schedule collapses and a road journey no longer fits the day. They are handled the same way as any other request, only faster — and the honest framing is that speed on our side cannot create availability that does not exist.
An inquiry is not a booking. Nothing is reserved until a qualified operator confirms and you accept in writing.
Send this immediately
For an urgent request, one complete message is worth more than a conversation. Include everything you know, and mark what is uncertain rather than leaving it out.
- From and to, with the most precise points you can give
- The latest acceptable arrival time, and what happens if it is missed
- Passengers and approximate baggage weight
- Whether an alternative departure or arrival point would be acceptable
- A phone number that will be answered continuously
What makes an urgent request workable
- Flexibility on the departure or arrival point
- Flexibility of even thirty minutes on timing
- A load that fits a wider range of aircraft
- Airport or established heliport ends rather than a private property that has to grant permission
- A decision-maker who is reachable and able to confirm quickly
What cannot be compressed
Some things take the time they take: permission at a private landing site, a cross-border clearance, crew duty limits, and the operator's own safety assessment. If one of those is the constraint, we will tell you plainly rather than keep you waiting on an answer that will not arrive in time.
The honest position on urgency
Assistance is available around the clock and an urgent request is prepared and put to operators as quickly as possible, subject to operator availability. Availability, permissions and conditions on the day are not within a broker's control, and no same-day outcome is guaranteed.
A message or a submitted request is an inquiry, not a booking. Nothing is reserved until the operator confirms and you accept in writing.
SkyMatch Group is an independent helicopter charter broker and concierge. We do not own or operate aircraft. Every flight is performed by a qualified operator, and aircraft, routing, landing sites, permits, timings and pricing are confirmed by that operator before anything is treated as final.
Frequently asked questions
- Can you arrange a helicopter for today?
- Sometimes, and it is always worth asking. It depends on whether a suitable aircraft and crew are available near your departure point, whether both landing points can be used, and the conditions. Send the request with your latest acceptable arrival time and a reachable phone number, and you will get a straight answer either way.
- What should I do while I wait for an answer?
- Hold a ground alternative in place, and keep the person who can approve reachable. Urgent movements are frequently decided by how quickly a confirmation can be accepted once an operator responds, so an approval bottleneck on your side can cost the option entirely.
- Is a short-notice flight more expensive?
- It can be, because the aircraft may need to position from further away and the market has less to offer at short notice. The operator quote will reflect the actual arrangement, and the terms are set out in writing before you accept, so there are no surprises after the fact.
