Private helicopter charter in Italy

Yes. There is no residency or licence requirement for passengers — you charter the aircraft with its crew from an ENAC-certified operator. We need passenger names, weights for the load sheet, and the pickup and drop-off points. Non-EU visitors need nothing beyond the passport used to enter the Schengen area.

Indicative all-in guide prices: from about €2,400 for Naples–Capri, €2,700 for Naples–Positano or Amalfi, €2,900 for Milan–Lake Como or Portofino, €2,300 for Olbia to a Costa Smeralda villa, around €4,100 for Sicily to Taormina or the Aeolian Islands, and roughly €5,200 for Rome–Tuscany. Quotes include aircraft, crew, fuel, landing and handling fees and VAT where applicable.

The helicopter is 15 minutes gate to helipad; the ferry is 50–80 minutes plus port transfer, queueing and luggage handling — realistically half a day with a Naples-airport arrival. For two to five passengers with international connections, the helicopter usually saves the arrival day, which is why it is our most requested Italian leg.

Sometimes, never by default. Italy restricts landings over historic centres and protected coastline; Capri, Amalfi, Portofino and Costa Smeralda use designated helipads. Several villas, resorts and superyachts do hold approved sites. We verify the site, airspace and authorisation before issuing the quote, and arrange a car for the last stretch when a direct landing is not permitted.

Seven to ten days in July and August and around major events (Venice Film Festival, Formula 1 at Monza, Milan Fashion Week, Sardinian regatta weeks). Outside peak season, next-day departures are frequently available. Coastal helipad slots, not aircraft, are usually the constraint.

Every mission carries a defined decision time. Summer thunderstorms over the Apennines and low cloud on the Amalfi Coast are the usual causes. If the operator cancels for weather, the flight is not charged, and we rebook or arrange ground transport straight away.

A light single carries three to four passengers with soft bags; a light twin four to six; a VIP medium twin six to eight with real suitcase capacity. Coastal helipads impose weight limits, so we plan the load sheet up front — including golf bags, ski equipment and oversized cases.
