Landing on a yacht requires a certified helideck and an operator-approved procedure; many yachts have only a touch-and-go or winching area, or none at all. For most Mediterranean and Caribbean itineraries, flying to the nearest coastal heliport and meeting the tender is faster, cheaper and less weather-sensitive than a deck landing.

Vessel name and position, captain's contact, tender meeting point, guest count and luggage, and a firm timing window — these are what turn a yacht transfer from improvised into reliable.

Landing is never guaranteed in advance

Is a shoreside transfer slower?

Marginally on paper, and usually more reliable in practice — it removes the deck-landing weather constraint entirely.
