The Balearic DJ circuit by helicopter: Ibiza to Mallorca, Barcelona and Formentera with flight times against ferry and airline timings, club-season constraints, night limits and what operators need to quote.

Ibiza (IBZ) → Palma de Mallorca (PMI): roughly 30–35 minutes airborne against a 2–4 hour ferry crossing plus port transfers
Ibiza → Barcelona (BCN / Sabadell): roughly 60–75 minutes, the leg that makes a Barcelona set and an island set work on the same day
Ibiza → Formentera: roughly 10 minutes against a ferry plus road legs at both ends, subject to an approved landing point
Ibiza airport → villa, hotel or club district: short hops where the approved landing point, not the flight, decides the door-to-door time
Mallorca → Barcelona and Valencia mainland connections for onward jet or airline departures
Peak-season reality: July and August compress the Balearic fleet, and short-notice requests compete with repeat charter

Why touring teams use SkyMatch

SkyMatch is a helicopter charter coordination platform, not an operator. Flights are performed and contracted by suitable licensed third-party operators, subject to aircraft and crew availability, local regulations, landing-site approval and weather.

One request point

Instead of finding a helicopter provider in each city yourself, send the mission requirements once. We source operators in each market and come back with the options that exist.

Complex itineraries

A run can involve several countries, airports, venues, festivals and hotels. The whole itinerary is handled through one coordination contact rather than separate local bookings.

Built around the deadline

Planning starts from the arrival time you need — soundcheck, load-in, doors or stage time — and works backwards through the road leg, turnaround and flight, with a buffer written in.

Private jet connections

Helicopter options are coordinated around the tour aircraft’s actual arrival or departure at the FBO, so the jet is not held on the ground waiting for ground transport.

Multi-leg planning

Airport to venue, venue to hotel, hotel to the next airport, festival to festival — legs can be requested together and quoted as one plan.

Event and festival traffic

Where road access around a site becomes unpredictable, a helicopter leg can protect the schedule. Where the road leg is short and clear, we will say so.

Discretion

Movements are treated as confidential and briefs can be issued under NDA. Operators receive only the operational information they need to fly; the artist's public name is not required to source a flight.

Short-notice requests

Touring schedules change. Urgent requests are accepted and sourced, subject to aircraft, crew and landing availability on the day — nothing is confirmed until the operator confirms it.

Send this and we can quote

Tour movement brief

  • Departure point (airport, FBO, venue, hotel or festival)
  • Destination point
  • Date and the time you must be on the ground
  • Number of passengers, split by artist, management, security and crew
  • Luggage and case list — dimensions and weights where you have them
  • Instruments travelling in the cabin
  • Private jet details: airport, tail arrival time, FBO
  • Additional legs and any return flight
  • The next scheduled commitment after this movement
  • How flexible the timing is, and your ground fallback

Pricing is quotation-based

What moves the price

  • Aircraft class and passenger or baggage capacity required
  • Flight time and the operator's positioning to and from the start point
  • Waiting time between legs on a show day
  • Landing and handling fees at each point
  • Night operation, if the departure falls after last light
  • Date pressure — peak festival weekends draw on a small local fleet
  • Number of legs and whether one aircraft can cover the whole run

There is no published fixed price for a show-day transfer. The operator issues the figure for your specific legs, on top of it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Roughly 30–35 minutes airborne between the two airports, against a ferry crossing of two to four hours plus port transfers at each end, or an airline seat with two full airport chains. Exact time depends on aircraft type, wind and the landing points used.

Yes — roughly 60–75 minutes depending on aircraft. It is an over-water sector, which affects aircraft choice, equipment and operator policy, so not every machine on the island can be offered for it.

Only where there is a suitable site with the owner's permission and, where applicable, local authorisation. Most island movements land at IBZ or a licensed site and continue by road — plan on that and treat a villa landing as a bonus, not the baseline.

It depends on the aircraft, crew night qualification and whether the landing site is lit and approved for night use. Many island sites are day-only, which usually means the flight happens before the set or the following morning.

Short notice is normal in electronic touring, but July and August are the tightest weeks of the year for the local fleet. The earlier the routing is confirmed, the more aircraft choice exists; nothing is held until the operator confirms.

Control surfaces, headphone and record cases usually do, within the aircraft’s baggage volume and weight limit. Full production or lighting freight does not — send the case list and the aircraft is sized to it, or the heavy items go by road and ferry.

Quotation-based: aircraft class, flight time, positioning, waiting time and any night operation. Peak-season dates price differently from May or October.

A licensed third-party operator based in or positioned to the Balearics. SkyMatch sources and coordinates the request; the operator holds the AOC and carries operational responsibility, including the go or no-go decision.

It does not operate aircraft and does not confirm availability, permits, landing permission, weather, route feasibility or final price — licensed operators do, after review.
