Sometimes. Some hotels have an approved private helipad, most do not. Where there is no helipad, arrival is usually organised at the nearest heliport, airfield or an approved temporary landing site, with a short car transfer to the door. Feasibility is never guaranteed in advance — it depends on local regulations, operator approval, landowner permission, aircraft type, weather and safety conditions.
Resort and city-hotel arrivals are one of the most common helicopter charter requests. The honest answer is that the hotel itself is rarely the deciding factor — the local aviation authority, the operator's own assessment and the physical site are.
Three ways a hotel arrival usually works
Almost every hotel arrival falls into one of three patterns, and the practical difference is a few minutes of ground time.
- Approved hotel helipad — the resort holds a permanent approval and the operator files for it directly.
- Temporary landing site on hotel grounds — possible in some jurisdictions with landowner permission plus authority notification or approval.
- Nearest heliport or airfield — the default and by far the most common, with a pre-arranged car for the final leg.

Why an operator may decline a hotel site
Even with a hotel's blessing, an operator can decline: confined approach, guest safety and rotor downwash on pool decks and terraces, loose surface debris, tight single-engine performance margins over a built-up area, or noise limits on the property.

How far is the nearest heliport usually?
In mature markets typically 5–20 minutes by car from major hotels. In island and remote markets it can be the local airfield, which is still far faster door-to-door than the road alternative.
Does the hotel need to approve the landing?
Yes, whenever the landing is on hotel property. Written permission from the property owner or manager is a precondition, alongside any authority approval.
