Nice (NCE) to Monaco Helicopter Transfer: Costs, Times, Heliports

Nice Côte d'Azur to Monaco by helicopter: 7-minute flight vs 90 min coastal road. Prices (€160–€220 shared, €2,800–€4,200 private), heliports, schedules and booking.

The original luxury airport transfer

Nice Côte d'Azur (NCE) to Monaco by helicopter has been flying since 1976 — the most established VIP airport link in Europe. Seven minutes over the Bay of Angels, the Cap d'Ail cliffs and Fontvieille marina. The alternative is 45–90 minutes along the A8 or coastal Basse Corniche, often closed during August or Grand Prix week.

What it costs

Heliports and ground transfer

Departure: Nice Heliport, dedicated facility on the south side of NCE — never the main terminal. Arrival: Monaco Heliport (Fontvieille) on the western edge of the principality. Pre-booked hotel cars from the Hôtel de Paris, Hermitage, Métropole and Monte-Carlo Bay wait at the pad — 4-minute drive to Place du Casino.

FBO procedure at Nice

Drive to the Nice Heliport entrance (signposted from the A8). Check-in is 15 minutes before departure. Photo ID, passport for non-Schengen arrivals. Luggage weighed at check-in: ~10 kg soft-sided per passenger on the AW109, full luggage on H145 / AW139. Connecting from a private jet? FBO coordinates planeside transfer in under 10 minutes.

When to fly, when to drive

Always fly during Grand Prix week (closed coastal roads), Yacht Show, the Cannes Film Festival and any August weekend. Off-season mid-week with clear traffic, the drive is fine. Weather minimums are generous on this coastal route — flights operate in 95%+ of all weather days.
