Fastest way from Bali to the Gili Islands and Lombok

Short answer

The usual Bali to Gili journey is a road transfer to Padangbai or Serangan plus a fast boat, totalling four to six hours door to door and vulnerable to sea state. A helicopter flies Bali to the Gilis in about 30 minutes and to Lombok in about 35 minutes, subject to operator availability and an approved landing site.

The fast boat is the default, and in calm weather it is fine. In swell, or with an early flight to catch, it becomes the weakest link in the trip. A short rotary leg turns the crossing into a fixed, weather-checked slot.
