An empty leg (or 'ferry flight') is a one-way repositioning flight that a helicopter must perform anyway — with no passengers on board. Operators sell that leg at a steep discount instead of flying empty.
How much do empty leg flights cost?
Empty legs are typically 30–50% below the equivalent one-way charter price. On short helicopter corridors (e.g. Nice ↔ Monaco, Dubai ↔ Abu Dhabi) prices often start from €1,200–€2,900 per aircraft, not per seat.
Are empty legs safe?
