Pharma & Life Sciences — questions we get asked
Can you transport temperature-sensitive pharmaceutical products by helicopter?
Yes. Product travels in your validated 2–8 °C, frozen or cryogenic shippers; the helicopter provides the fastest point-to-point leg while the shipper maintains the qualified temperature envelope.
Do you support cell and gene therapy transfers?
Regularly. Autologous and time-bound therapies have hard delivery windows, so we plan the rotor leg around the treatment slot, brief the crew on the handover protocol and hold a backup aircraft where the schedule allows.
How is chain of custody maintained?
Handovers are documented at pickup and delivery, couriers or your own QA staff can travel with the consignment, and the operator's flight and handling records are supplied for your quality file.
Can a helicopter land at our plant or a hospital?
Where a certified helipad exists, yes. Otherwise we survey a compliant landing site as close as possible and coordinate the final ground leg with your logistics partner.
How fast can you activate out of hours?
Our desk operates 24/7. For a declared urgent shipment we typically confirm an operator within the hour and position the aircraft the same day, subject to weather and airspace.
Is this GDP-compliant transport?
We are a sourcing and coordination desk, not the shipper of record: we select operators and handling that fit your GDP procedures, and your quality organisation retains approval of the qualified packaging and process.
