FAQ

Manufacturing & Heavy Equipment — questions we get asked

Can a helicopter place machinery or HVAC units on a plant roof?

Yes. We source certified external-load operators with the hook capacity, long-line configuration and pilot experience for rooftop and confined-site placements, planned with your site HSE and rigging contractor.

What loads can be lifted externally?

Depending on aircraft class and density altitude, typical external loads run from roughly 1 tonne to over 4 tonnes. We match the airframe to the load's weight, dimensions and required hover height.

How fast can you deliver a line-down spare part?

Our desk responds within the hour and usually has an aircraft moving the same day — the reason manufacturers use rotor logistics is that the aircraft costs less per hour than the stopped line.

Do you deploy engineering and OEM teams as well as cargo?

Yes. Many missions combine a critical part with the specialists who install it, delivering both directly to the plant or the nearest compliant landing site.

Do you handle permits and lift planning?

The operator files the required approvals for external-load and confined-area work, and we coordinate the lift plan, exclusion zones and timing with your site management.

How is a helicopter lift priced?

Per flight hour with positioning, plus a rigging and planning allowance for external-load work. As an independent desk we present multiple operator quotes for the same scope.
