Helicopter Logistics for Food, Perishables & Cold-Chain Cargo
Time-critical movements of fresh produce, seafood, chilled ingredients and packaging components when a broken cold chain or an empty production line is the more expensive option.

- Same-day lift for chilled and frozen consignments
- Temperature-controlled packaging and data-logger handling
- Direct farm, port, processing plant and airport-side pickups
- Customs, health-certificate and airside coordination
Food & Perishables — questions we get asked
Can a helicopter carry temperature-controlled food cargo?
Yes. Consignments travel in insulated or active temperature-controlled containers supplied by you or sourced locally, with data loggers carried inside the load so the cold chain remains auditable end to end.
How quickly can you move a perishable shipment?
Our desk responds within the hour and, in most of our 18+ markets, has an aircraft airborne the same day — which is usually what decides whether a consignment makes the airline cut-off or is written off.
Can you collect directly from a farm, port or processing plant?
Yes. Helicopters use farm strips, harbour aprons, plant yards and improvised LZs, so cargo can be lifted at source instead of losing hours to road transfer.
Do you handle customs and health certificates for food exports?
We coordinate with your freight forwarder and the operator's handling agent on airside access, customs documentation and health or veterinary certificates; the exporter of record remains yours.
What payload can we expect?
Typical light and intermediate twins carry roughly 700–1,300 kg internally, with heavier or external-load options where dimensions require. We size the aircraft to the pallet plan in your RFQ.
Is helicopter cargo cost-effective for food logistics?
It is when the alternative is a spoiled consignment, a missed export flight or a stopped production line. We quote against that avoided cost and always present several independent operator prices.
