Questions buyers ask
Does SkyMatch operate the helicopters?
No. SkyMatch is an independent helicopter sourcing and coordination platform. Every flight is performed by a licensed third-party operator, and SkyMatch does not own or operate aircraft.
How does SkyMatch request operator availability?
You brief the mission once — route or site, dates, passenger and cargo load, approvals needed. SkyMatch takes that brief to suitable operators on the panel and comes back with side-by-side options including certifications, aircraft and pricing.
What affects the price of this kind of flying?
Aircraft category, flight and standby hours, crew and aircraft positioning, fuel logistics, landing-site condition and any client audit or insurance requirement. Continuous programmes are structured differently to a single charter, so figures stay indicative until an operator confirms.
Can a request be handled at short notice?
Short-notice and same-day requests are worth sending — the answer depends on what is genuinely unbooked, what approvals are already in place and whether crew duty and daylight allow it. SkyMatch says plainly when it is not realistic.
What information should be in the brief?
Site coordinates or nearest airfield, landing-area condition, elevation, passenger numbers and weights, cargo type and weight, rotation frequency, on-site fuel and any HSE or audit standard the operator must meet.
